56th Annual Lloydminster Oil and Gas (Heavy Crude) Open Bonspiel

We're back in 2025!!   Mark your calendars...March 13 - 16th at the Lloydminster Golf & Curling Centre.  We have lots of exciting things ready to roll out to all of you.  Our committee is busy planning so if you're interested in getting involved, please send us a PM we have a couple positions we are looking to fill.

8 end games, 5 rock rule in place

4 game guarantee

Entries

  • Must be received before March 1st, 2025
  • Must have four eligible curlers listed
  • one non-oilman allowed per team
    (must play lead)
  • Committee decisions on entry eligibility are final
  • All player substitutions must be approved by the entry committee.

The Lloydminster Oil and Gas Open Bonspiel is back on the calendar, March 13 - 16, 2025.


Let's talk for a minute about the longevity of this Bonspiel which was first established in 1968. It has become an integral part of the local oil and gas community over the years. We have seen a lot of growth and change in the industry, and events such as this bonspiel keep us all connected while doing what we love every day. The Oil and Gas Industry plays an important role in our day-to-day lives and we believe in celebrating those who that have dedicated their years to the industry.

The Bonspiel was first hosted with the idea to bring us all together and continues to reflect on the recent challenges and successes in our industry to build a positive future. Our committee is actively evaluating options for the 2025 Oilman of the Year from a list of dozens of active and retired contributors to the Oil & Gas Industry.


If you have someone in mind you would like to be considered for Oilman of the Year, please email lloydheavycrudebonspiel@outlook.com with their name and a brief background regarding initiatives in the Oil & Gas Industry.


Candidates will be evaluated based on Leadership, Innovation, Financial Performance, Safety, Environmental Stewardship, Community Engagement and Reputation.
